Artist Statement

The human figure captures and conceals colour in subtle ways. Everyday environments both change and reflect the surface value of skin. Dramatic changes are possible, and closer inspection reveals a range of colour not perceived at a distance.

My work explores this aspect of light: the warmth, variation and range of colour expressed by the human figure at different scales. Seen in both shadow and translucency, these still forms offer an opportunity to simply observe and enjoy the intensity of colour found in serene everyday moments.
